just right after i knocked down a heavy load of laundry bag at nearby valet shop today, two young hong kong policemen nabbed me while crossing the road to pay for my phone bill. i thought i was jaywalking. instead, i ended up with some pointless questions.

it was extremely funny to think that everytime i had to dress up like a model look, i've always caught red-handed by a police officer. this has happened few similar times as to why i'm being questioned like, "are you a model?" yabang no? model my foot! it's just the nerves on dressing up smartly. isn't this a fashion city? c'monnn!

i don't know. after that scandal, been thinking of which to blame. maybe it was the wet monday afternoon or my iPod or the armani clothes or my woolen scarf or my kangol  tweed jacquard cap which i found surprisingly comfortable during this cold weather. i knew i was gonna asked by bristling questions which started like this:

the police: "wei! wei! wei!", in english "hey, you!" or in tagalog, "pssst! sandali"

me: with my iPod singing to jill scott's a long walk, they impeded infront of me, so i said, "yes, excuse me?"

police #1: talking to his buddy - um sec kong cheung man (can't understand chinese), although i can understand what he was saying, i've pretended guileless. he asked, "do you live here nearby? ok, show me your ID".

police #2: grabs my bag and inspect. "so what is your job here"? methinks: a drug user?

me: i opened my wallet showing him the whole bunch of receipts, and then my ID cards, while passers by were staring all at me. i overheard a woman saying, 'uh oh he's in a big shit'. i said, "a what!? me? no sir, i'm a filipino, a resident here, working in some decent company, pay taxes & it's my day off today. oh wait, what's these all about?"

so what's in my armani bag? two cell phones (one is for my globe roaming), dunhill lights, helmut lang perfume, fisherman's friend lemon lozenges, biolink hand lotion, an iPod, plenty of empty lai see packets, 3 pieces fake nike socks, 1 bottle of evian water and house keys.

he removed the whole cigs out of the box then i went violently angry and said, "fuck! you touched the whole damn butts with your fingers. look, they are now contaminated". it really ticks me off.

police #2: police #1 couldn't care less while he was talking to a walkie-talkie. "this man is clean". i was like, what does he mean clean? of course i'm clean. i just had my shower!

me: "anything else sir? i'm in a hurry you see, i'm going to pay for my bills, if i can't make it on time, i'll be dead tomorrow".

police #2: looks at me in a convincing manner. "mo man tai lah! (it's ok no more problem). thank you".

me: grabs the ID back and... "bye".
