al fresco

weekend in hong kong might seem a crazy idea. the city is full of contrast. the weather was friggin humid but my friend s and i had a wonderful dinner at the rat-alley in central district. it's a place jam-packed of people ordering splendid continental cuisine.

the good thing about eating to al fresco is that you don't need to prepare for a candlelight formal dinner. al fresco is a fancy name for "outside" because it's simply an open-air. a quick pick food is usually malaysian curry chicken and my favourite beef slices in green string beans added with super deluxe chili mix.

the sars crisis has finally end in hong kong. so restaurants are now providing al fresco seating options and they are now rapidly becoming commonplace. this manifestation of 'fresh-air-philia' is now greatly appreciated amongst hong kong population, considering summer is all about natural beauty. it's always common for locals to go wild on the weekends with a mix of business people, tourists and many others who look like peasants in from the country side.

so we did a little of sight-seeing at the lan kwai fong's area and man, i seemed to feel like a newbie in town. i never been out for months and dining options surely did lure my palate. lan kwai fong is a pride of hong kong. although soho isn't quite such an al fresco area, though a few restaurants have table outside, because it's crowded and the only way to be "in" is actually outside enjoying for a decent prices.

i've just done a google search and found that a definition of "fresco" is italian for "fresh". thank you s for the lovely dinner.

ate bing, HK is now SARS free, it's been 2 years. infact nowadays alco-gel dispenser are installed at every entrance of malls, commercial bldgs and resto's. no more surgical masks in PINK color and SMILEY style..

I love eating al freso, basically because it doesn't happen that often in cold, rainy Scotland.
Who wants to eat fancy food outside? Al fresco is all about the informality of it, the company you keep, the social-spirit.
That's why I love Italian food - unpretentious (sometimes!) and freah, and fast. Eating outside is all about the people.

i think if you're usimg IE browser the video won't load automatically.
but it's working both my IE and Firefox browsers. i've fixed it tho' so let me know if it's working or still not.
