when i came into the world, mom held me in her arms. i thanked her by wailing like a banshee. i was 1 year old when she fed and bathed me. then i turned 7, she walked me to school. i thanked her by screaming "I'M NOT GOING!".

i still remember those teenage years when i was 13 years old, she suggested a haircut that was totally an out-thing. i thanked her by telling her she had no taste.

i was 18 when she cried at my high school graduation. i thanked her by staying up while i was partying outside until dawn with classmates. and then i grew up. 

i was 19 when she paid for my college tuition. i thanked her by saying good-bye outside the dorm so i wouldn't be embarrassed in front of my friends. then i turned 24 when she asked me about my plans for the future, if i'm marrying who and when. i thanked her by glaring and growling, "muuhh-ther, please!" 

now that i'm older, she's feeling ill and needed me to take care of her. i can't thanked her enough and say that a mother has no substitute. though at times she may not agree to my thoughts, she is still my mother. she will always be with us, to listen to my woes, braggings, frustrations, etceteras.
