i guess not anymore. the HR had informed me that, i, yours truly, is now officially impoverished. i've found this out when i check my savings account only to be smacked by a zero point ninty nine friggin cents left flashing in the atm machine. upon seeing it, i covered the whole atm screen in haste exposed in public since a man was peeping at my back. caught him checking on my big transactions and thought i'd felt rattled.

i was very enfadado from the fact that i'd still suspect having few thousands dollars left sitting in that little plastic account only to find out that they're gone. who wouldn't? the atm machine talked back that i'd rather call the bank issuer. i approached this not-so-friendly fortyish woman at the customer desk and said that the bank was preventing me to withdrew cash temporarily. then she gave me numbers to contact a person responsible. those numbers were inaccessible until...

today, a slight threatening letter arrived from a collection enforcement section of the tax department stating that i am required to pay any amount of money to the commissioner of inland revenue because i failed to pay my salary tax return and it is now long overdue. to my knowledge, i had never received a tax return statement few years ago. i assumed free of obligation for the whole of the tax from which i have to pay. but i thought that something went wrong after i filed an assessment to the MPF each year under salaries tax. so i made my appointment to the commissioner named ms ho. we found out that i was unable to pay the fees on its deadline. she said that they contacted me in many attempts however, my habitual lack of care to return the calls failed them. the entire hour was full of bullshits that i couldn't have else to say at least defend myself but dammit, i paid the lumpsum, for crying out loud. with all the calculations, a 15% surcharge was also added in recovering its outstanding fees. otherwise, failure to do so is an offence punishable as such. under section 76 (1) of the inland revenue ordinance. fuck, it scares the shit out of me.

so ok i geddit! this is why my savings account was made unavailable. having said that, my two weeks allowance just participated to the public. so 'mind if the government official should treat me fairly now? can i expect no more shitty discrimination dramas in the street? i am now officially (again) a taxpaying person?

lucky are those beggars at central star ferry by just sitting there waiting & collects $$$ from passers by. i know i'm selfish in a petty way but i'm broke bigtime! where's j when i needed free treats?

doh! an impecunious makes the blood boils. time for cold shower?
